Senator Enyinnaya Harcourt Abaribe, representing Abia South Senatorial District, hosted a lively town hall meeting in Aba, where he showcased his extensive achievements from 2023 to 2025 and declared his full support for Governor Alex Otti’s 2027 re-election bid.

The event drew constituents from across the district, who gathered to hear the senator detail his contributions to infrastructure, education, and employment opportunities. He highlighted the installation of solar-powered lights in 24 communities in Ukwa West LGA, 15 in Ukwa East LGA, 16 in Ugwunagbo LGA, 18 roads in Aba North LGA, 32 roads and strategic locations in Aba South LGA, and 34 communities in Obingwa LGA.

Additionally, he noted the distribution of school bags, uniforms, shoes, and teaching materials to schools across the district, alongside road rehabilitation projects like the Opobo Road from Aba to Azumini and a N235 million investment in a 33KVA transmission line from Ovom sub-station to Azumini for rural electrification.

Senator Abaribe also outlined projects secured in the 2025 Federal Government Appropriation Act, worth billions of naira, including the completion of a sports center in Obehie, Ukwa LGA, training programs for women and youth, and the provision of transformers to boost electricity access. He proudly announced facilitating employment for 10 constituents in federal institutions within a year, including roles at the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency, Niger Delta Power Holding Company, Rural Electrification Agency, National Assembly Commission Hospital, Transmission Company of Nigeria, Niger Delta Development Commission, Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission, Federal Polytechnic Nekede, and the National Assembly.

On the legislative front, he discussed ongoing bills to amend the Electricity Bill, establish a Federal University of Petroleum and Geological Sciences in Ukwa West LGA, and create an Out-of-Home Media Practitioners Council of Nigeria, as well as a motion to immortalize Professor Humphrey Nwosu.

In a significant political statement, Senator Abaribe endorsed Governor Alex Otti’s 2027 re-election, praising his “remarkable achievements” and warning potential challengers that they would face him first. He also backed Labour Party leader Peter Obi for the 2027 presidential election, signaling strong party unity.

Constituents responded with enthusiasm, with many, like Chukwuemeka Okoro from Aba South, praising the senator’s dedication, though some urged greater focus on youth unemployment and transparency on project timelines. Known locally as Nmagha Ndigbo (Pride of the Igbo People), Senator Abaribe reaffirmed his commitment to advancing Abia South’s development through impactful projects and advocacy.
